Anita Saarkessian
Anita Sarkeesian is a Canadian-American feminist media critic as well as a public speaker. She is the founder of Feminist Frequency, a site that features videos and comments analyzing the portrayals of females in popular culture. Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian-American blogger and media critic who has been awarded awards for her work, is a feminist blogger. Feminist Frequency is a non-profit educational website which explores the representations of females in narratives from popular culture. Destroying stereotypes about women are her main focus. In addition, Sarkeesian explores the issue of specific harassment of women on the internet as well as other communities who are left out. Sarkeesian is also a graduate of York University master's in social theological, philosophical and political thought. Alongside being a well-known public speaker, she has given presentations at TEDxWomen The XOXO Conference as well as the United Nations Broadband Working Group. As a university student she became concerned about issues related to gender equality and the rights of women at an early stage. The ambitious lady planned to launch an internet series that examined gender representation in games, and was then the victim of an online campaign to harass her. The attack wasn't enough to halt her. It actually made her more committed as a feminist and media critic. She is a recipient of several awards for her contributions to feministism. Anita Sarkeesian, a media critic, has been awarded numerous awards and created Feminist Frequency, an educational non-profit that examines the way women are depicted in popular culture narratives.
