
Carol Lynley (born Carole Ann Jones on February 13, 1942 - September 3, 2019), was an American actress. Her most famous work is for her roles on the films Blue Denim (1959), The Poseidon Adventure (1872), and The Poseidon Adventure (1972). Lynley was raised in Manhattan by an Irish mother and New England father. She began her career as a child model , before getting into acting. She won the Theatre World Award in 1956-57 for her role in The Potting Shed. Lynley's film career began in 1958 with the Disney film The Light in the Forest. Holiday for Lovers (1959), Blue Denim (1959) followed. In 1959 she was nominated to win the Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer-Female for the movie The Light in the Forest. In the following year, she was nominated again for the Golden Globe Award as Most Promising Female Newcomer - Female.
