Rauw Alejandro

Raul Alejandro Ruiz Ocasio-Ruiz born on January 10, 1993 is a Puerto Rican singer/songwriter. He is referred to as the "King of Contemporary Reggaeton",[2][3he is part of "the new generation" of Puerto Rican urban musicians. His debut studio album Afrodisiaco was released in November 2020. His second studio album Vice Versa, which was released in June 2021 and featured the lead track "Todo de Ti". Two Latin Grammy Awards have been awarded to him out of 12 nominations. Raul Alejandro Ocasio-Ruiz was born on January 10 1993, in San Juan, Puerto Rico and was raised in Canovanas and Carolina. [4][5] His father guitar player Raul Ocasio, as well as his mother and backing vocalist Maria Nelly Ruiz, introduced to some of his musical influences like Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson and Chris Brown. In the past, for a long time, Alejandro and his father resided in the continental United States, mainly Miami and New York City, where his inspiration came from the R&B and dancehall genres. [7][8] Alejandro and fellow Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA were childhood pals; they each attended the same school and attended classes together. When they were children, Alejandro competed in school talent shows since he has a passion for dancing. He attended the University of Puerto Rico after he graduated high school. He was a soccer player between six to twenty. But , he resigned after stating that he couldn't perform as he was expected to. He relocated to Orlando, Florida to attempt to be scouted for a spot in the Premier Development League (PDL), but eventually was unsuccessful. Rauw Alejandro is well-known for his Latin R&B, Latin Reggaeton and rhythmic pop. Billboard stated that his music "set his music distinct" from the growing band of Reggaetoneros who lean towards pop.
